I certainly wasn't telling anyone to give up on the American dream, but many people who believe they are entitled to "The American Dream" are doomed to be disappointed; because, the American middle class is gradually disappearing as a very few powerful, super wealthy individual drive the remainder of the population into poverty/slavery. Americans would probably be mush happier if wealth was more homogeneous. That is exactly what the progressive income tax was designed to do. Although the Danes are homogeneous across any number of different denominators, America should remain a country of divergence, but America's wealth should still be distributed homogeneously, (eg fairly, indiscriminately, or without bias to race, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, etc.) See excerpt below: #------------------------ Excerpt: Dorset says that contentment may stem from the fact that Denmark is almost totally homogenous, has no large disparities of wealth, and has had very little national turmoil for more than a half century. "We have very little violence. We have very little murders. So people are, feel very safe," he says. #------------------------- Regards, LelandJ > -- > Larry Miller > > > > --- StripMime Report -- processed MIME parts --- > multipart/mixed > text/plain (text body -- kept) > message/rfc822 > --- > [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
