There was an interesting article in the wall street journal on Friday or
Saturday discussing exactly that.
Turns out a lot of people with degrees (I don't have one) can't find work
anymore, and these are IT people.

I was born in 57.
Turned 50 this year.
Don't have the energy to work as many hours as I used too, so I can relate

Hi Virgil!

It turned sour for me in 1979 and has never come back. Thanks, Jimmy. 
Since then I got a lot of higher education that has spiced up the variety of
my conversation but has not been worth even a penny of income. Education is
a fraud in the absence of jobs for the graduates.

I am probably older than you. Once you can't work 18 hours a day for
straight time any more they have no use for you.
