Here is what I did for a friend who got into trouble. It ought to work for you just fine. Look up debt collection federal legislation on Google. In short, if you work out of your home you can verbally tell these folks to no longer call you at your place of employment. Further you can advise you can only be reached by mail with a trackable means of delivery to make certain the communication does not get lost in transit. And be certain to advise that since they do have your address and phone # they are not legally allowed to contact relative and neighbors to try to "find you", otherwise it is a form of harrassment. It would also pay to get a Vice Modem and Phone Recording application to document all incoming and outgoing calls, especially after you tell them to stop calling. The demand to not call you at your place of employment (home) is only applicatible to each person contacting you to try to cellect, so if someone else jumps into the game fro a different agency you must make the same demand.
If you live in a Single Party Notification State you do NOT have to tell anyone you are recording a call, as long as at least one party in the connection is aware of the recording being made (that can be you). In this one case State laws trump Federal law. If you need info re: phone recording devices and software eMail me at [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can put a great system together for under $100, plus you need a PC as the recording are stored on your hard drive. If you keep getting harrassing calls you can sue for harrasment.
