Excellent point. However, in 2000 you could have asked:

However, you supported Bush instead of his opponent, who was both a
decorated military veteran and a Vice President with extensive foreign
policy experience. Seems like you just want to go with the arguments
that fit your pre-determined choice when it's convenient to do so.
