Let's start with that one. The *an* is a recent addition and while it deflects some of my criticism let's try being biblically correct. There is ONE antichrist prophesied in the Bible and comparing anyone - including Obama - does you no credit. Leave that description out of it and your credibility already rises dramatically. As for cult-of-personality... I think you have gotten so used to a universally despised President that the concept of a wildly popular one disturbs you. 'yes we can' resonated with the american people who want to believe that 'yes they can' rise about the morass of economic uncertainly. Obama is a person who inspires, who leads and is charismatic. He can work a crowd like few before him. To somehow describe this as unhealthy is just another example of your lack of perspective. You describe popularity as a sin. People are NOT worshipping him. I know what true worship is and this is nothing like it. They love him, they trust him, they honour him and they hope they will lead them out of the mess. Its called being popular. I have been severely critical of Bush and McCain and Republicans generally. I have not spared them any blame, but I do react negatively to the idiotic argument that what's going on now is somehow the opposite of what these same people accused Bush of doing -- using fear to rape the Treasury and benefit lobbyists and friends -- or that everything is Bush's fault, which, as Mike points out, is also a canard, since Congress controls the purse strings. The truth is that both parties are to blame, and what is happening now is nothing short of the greatest theft of wealth of all time. The people Obama has surrounded himself with are totally corrupt retreads who inspire no hope. Obama is not some victim in this situation, which seems to be your view; indeed he now totally owns what happens next. He asked for the job. He got it.
