Bull. Christian metaphysics contends that we are beings designed for
worship--it's part of being created in God's image, a triune being: body,
soul and spirit. We will worship something, question is what, and whether
it's conscious (voluntary) or not.

People are worshipping this guy. The wife of the man I work with right now
is so infatuated with him, any point I make about him even slightly in the
negative or skeptical is taken personally. And my partner loves Hillary and
has a certifiable case of Bush Derangement Syndrome--though he's not 100% an
Obamatron. He refuses to hear any criticism, like you, "until we see what he
does" as if he hasn't done anything yet. It's insane.

And when they worship a false god, bad things happen.

It's curious that you refuse to address my specific points. I want to
believe I'm overreacting. I really do. Your blanket assertions about my
personal state of mind are cold comfort. You seem to want to believe the
best as vehemently as I believe the worst.

But the evidence all around me won't let me believe what I'm seeing is
innocent or healthy. Julio was one of at least four case studies in just
that one townhall of obscene man-worship of Obama.

I know what "liberation theology" is from my Catholic background. I know
about "black liberation theology" which is what Obama's 20-year pastor
preached from trinity united. The photos above surprise me not at all. This
is what Obama is all about. Marxism via religion.

In any case, a friend of mine who happens to be the worship pastor at the
church I attend today agreed with you this far: I am being too "judgmental"
of guys like Julio, and ignoring one important fact, which is clear from the
book of Daniel. God sets up leaders, and he tears them down, all for His
ultimate glory and purpose. At the end of the day no leader of this world,
not Bush, not Obama, not even Amhedinejad or Hitler, has a pot to piss in
without God's grace.

Even supposing Obama is evil, even supposing all these people are blindly
worshipping him, it doesn't mean I need to be shaken or angered by it all.
Daniel's calm while serving some of the most vain, evil leaders in history
should be a model.

I do need to surrender all this stuff I know and trust that God has it under
control, and everything that happens is for His glory, even if by our
standards the consequences are tragic and unacceptable.

Which reminds me: I owe Helio a response to his contention that God of the
OT is a monster. And I owe Ricardo a response to his "challenge" (I almost
called it a question, but then that wouldn't be Ricardo) about infant
baptism.

Not enough time in a day...
