Exactly how did George Bush create the financial crisis? Don't lean on lazy
answers like "Well he was President before" ... "lack of regulation" ... or
"he is a free marketer and the free market did it" ... these are too vague
to have any meaning, and in the large can be refuted with many-leveled
arguments that more accurately reflect the way our system works (or worked
anyway).

I believe he contributed to it, and I also believe Obama and his party
contributed to it even more. I think do-gooder programs to get people into
houses even if they couldn't afford them (which Bush also supported, though
he DID try to regulate the GSE's at the heart of the meltdown, contrary to
popular opinion) is the main culprit, and that was hardly a free market
initiative.
