Lynda and I picked up some Asus netbooks the other month (900H and 1000H), and really enjoy using them for quick surfing and emailing in the living room. While in Puerto Rico the other month (business trip, really, it was) she found it did a great job for her, and never had to use my laptop even once. I did not bring my Asus as I was letting a client test it out for a week in an effort to help him with a buying/investment decision. I have loaned it out to other folks for a few days at a time since returning, and most have purchased one. I find the laptop feels too heavy to use in the living room any longer, as this little Asus has done what I need in a smaller and lighter package. But with no optical drive built in (I use USB external CD/DVD R/W unit), and 1024 x 600 resolution on the LCD panel, it does have some limitations. I have used the external, 2ndary VGA port with resolutions up to 1920 x 1200. Very nice, but again, can't replace the laptop for some things, punchy as it has proven to be (Atom CPU with 1Gb RAM, XP Home & Ubuntu Linux 8.10).
