I am using a DELL XPS 1730. I had a car crash last november, flipping
twice with the car and ending in the trench, at 130hm/h (about 80
miles/h). The thing was on the back seat and managed to get out of the
car through the back window and was later recovered from the highway
(I was unaware I don't have it anymore - one of the policemen found it
and brought it to me). Guess what. The display was a little bit
cracked and I used it in that very day for hours, giving a
presentation, then used it daily until I've replaced the display. It
had no other problems.

I guess it's a matter of personal experience. I had a DELL Latitude -
no problems whatsoever, now DELL XPS - no problems whatsoever, so I
guess DELL works for me.
