That's interesting. Why do you make that recommendation?

Since Linux is my primary platform, I tend to agree.

But I learned Ruby on Rails on Windows, as the client at the time had
a Windows-only VPN client, their source code control was primarily
Windows, and IE6-compatibility was an essential feature. I used the
RadRails IDE, which builds on Eclipse. It worked quite well.

I know our Python SIG is pretty evenly split between Windows, OS X and
Linux. Several of the members use Python and its Win32API and COM API
capabilites to automate and manage Windows-native systems.
