Technically the issue for Savage isn't his free speech in Britain -- he
wasn't even contemplating visiting the UK. The issue is defamation of
character, and the process whereby he got on the list in the first
place---Savage suspects some folks on this side of the pond gave Jacqui
Smith the great idea to add him to the list, an idea that's not entirely
twisted when you consider various "reports" Napolitano has put out recently
painting conservatives generally as terror risks. As Pete pointed out Savage
can be rude and say some shocking things, but he's never broken any laws or
advocated anybody break any laws, and he has a huge audience that enjoys his
eclectic views. He's by no means a cookie-cutter conservative talk show
host.

Anyway I'd be fighting mad too if I was lumped together with Martha Stewart,
Russian skin-head murderers, and known terrorists and a foreign government
made a big display of maligning my character.
