>> Just curious as to why you wouldn't upgrade to SP2. Now that a hotfix is
available for the report data group, there isn't any reason to NOT upgrade
to SP2 and take advantage of all the bug fixes AND new features that are
available.<<

As you know I am a huge proponent of getting on the VFP 9 SP2 bandwagon.

I know of three good reasons not to upgrade to VFP 9 SP2 in production (no
real great reasons not to update for development):

1) You don't have the time to system test the app before shipping it with
the new runtimes. System could be gigantic and the time is not in the
project schedule. I think this is really important to do.

2) You have apps or components that work together and at a time one works
with SP1 and the other would be migrated to SP2. For instance, if your
application fires up Stonefield Query (still on SP1 last I checked) and uses
the COM interface you will see GPFs.

3) Mass distribution of vertical market app takes time, especially if you
have runtimes on the local workstations and have hundreds of workstations.

None of these are showstoppers, just time consumers and with time being a
limited resource I can see them as being good reasons. Long term though, the
best practice is to get a migration plan in place.
