Hi Paul,

> totally frakking ridiculous when looking at files in Windows *Explorer*

On my normal user account I've left things the way Microsoft set them up
after a brief period of testing other settings. It's much easier to work
with Windows when I don't see folders that I don't need for my daily work,
such as AppData, etc. What's important: Documents is available, Network is
available, and Windows finds most programs in the start menu, so no need to
browse extensively around, either.

I found I mostly need to access these hidden files for administrative tasks.
For those I use a different file manager (FAR Manager), because Explorer
isn't suited well. I also have a different user account (Administrator) with
appropriate settings. I don't perform administrative tasks all the time,
though.

The command prompt hasn't changed, files still show with extension and DIR
/AHD shows hidden files.
