I'll try again. There are three points in this debate where the
epistemology gets a bit complicated:

1. Is the climate getting warmer?

2. Are the causes sufficiently controllable by man to justify political action?

3. Are the proposed political actions assured to produce the promised
ecological benefits (and are they worth the political and economic
trade offs)?

Question 1 remains debatable but seems to be the least controversial.
Everyone accepts that the climate changes.

Questions 2 hasn't even had a real dialog, let alone debate. Mars'
polar ice caps are also melting so that, combined with evidence of
recent cooling and the lack of sunspots, IMHO, puts a legitimate
question mark over 2.

Question 3 is the all important one right now, and until we have
clarity about what exactly is proposed and what it means to our way of
life, I don't think we should be rushing legislation, much less
treaties (which can alter our constitutional protections without the
constitutional safeguards inherent in the legislative process).

So let me ask you this:

What are the essential provisions in the Copenhagen treaty, and why
are they a good idea?
