Global warming seem very subtle and gradual to most people; because, it is occurring over such a long period of time, (eg perhaps the last 50 to 60 years), relative to the average life expectancy of most humans, and global warming has not yet affected the lives of ordinary people. However, the climate change currently taking place is moving at lightening speed, relative to the million years of climate history that allowed life on earth to evolve and adopt. It seem that earth is in crisis today, due to rapid changes in climate caused by human interference with the planet's normal systems. Its hard to take global warming seriously when we hear scientists, that specialize in earth's climate systems, warn that their models indicate average temperatures could rise 6 degrees by the 22 century, if thing continue as they are, (eg nothing is done to mitigate the human factor feeding global warming and climate change.). Most people do not understand the destructive consequences that a 6 degree temperature change would have on delicate Eco systems around the world, nor do they understand how the imbalance created would spread throughout the food chain effecting every nook and cranny of life on planet earth. Most people do not feel climate change threatens them and would rather push the problem to future generation. Too many people are in denial about climate change, as is indicate by a general lack of appetite to take the subject seriously. Below are some steps that can be taken to being moving towards a long term solution. 1) Better educate the world population at every level about the seriousness of climate change. 2) strive to better understand the causes and effect of climate change and global warming. 3) Develop a plan to address the problem of climate change and global warming. 4) Implement the plan and adjust as necessary to bring about a solution.
