Hi Virgil, I am indebted to the guys on this list for helping me to see the problem. Without their insights I would still be spinning my wheels. I think the light bulb revelation came from Stephen Russell, who observed that the data model I was trying to use was inconsistent. And it still is! Currently EMR is trying to get a profession wide interchange of data but each specialty has its own model and each individual doc keeps different types of data. Thus, each office has to have its own customized solution, try sharing data with that! And the lawyers tell the docs not to keep any records unless they absolutely have to.
