        Wait - you're in favor of capital punishment, yet reject the Old 
Testament? Or are you simply rejecting those parts that are inconvenient for 
your current argument, yet still embracing those that justify revenge killing? 
Is that how it works: you get to choose which parts of the Sacred Word of God 
which "count"?

        The OT was all about an eye for an eye, smiting, retribution, etc. The 
whole "Angry God" stuff. The NT is about forgiveness, love, acceptance and 
(dare I say it?) pacifism. Capital punishment is clearly an OT mindset.
