Well, the xg19 doesn't have a built in memory stick reader, so I use a
pcmcia one which works just fine. I've upgraded my kernel to the latest
2.4 so the firewire works (both with my camcorder, and my firewire
drive), the usb works (with my usb printer, usb scanner, usb mouse, usb
hub, usb keyboard, usb Zip 250, and Handspring Visor), even the jogwheel
works. If you grab jogmouse (http://www.nerv-un.net/~dragorn/jogmouse/)
the wheel works as a mouse wheel and pressing it in acts as a middle
mouse click, which is MUCH nicer than the whole Emulate3Button thing.
However, jogmouse1.1 needs a patch to work correctly with the 2.4 kernel
driver. The author hasn't put up the new version (1.5) yet, but I can
send the patch to anyone who needs it. According to Mike Kershaw (the
author of jogwheel), vaio's with the built in memstick reader work with
2.4. Apparently it shows up as a USB mass storage device.
