Andrew,
        YOU DA MAN!!  You were absolutely correct! I had a suspicion that
the DRC was it but since I am new to Protel, had not been there yet. Thank
you for your help and this is my testimony to how valuable an asset this
users group is to newbies like myself. Some of my stupid beginner issues are
probably trying, but I will try to remember that in the future and pass
along the good deed to some other poor new floundering fool like myself.

Mostly green, huh? Sounds like you've got violations. Protel's default 
DRC-violation indicator color is green. So, do your tracks sorta glow? 
Check the clearance constraints, etc..

Also, you can go up to [Tools -> Reset Error Markers ] and see if that 
changes your view. if it does, then you definitely have the DRC up in arms.
