Thanks for the details Abd ul-Rahman, although it is rather moot after I had
stuck my foot so far into my mouth (note to self: Tonsils think that I need
a pedicure.). I am not even sure which resource monitor you are using, I
think by your description the simple W98 one but I am fairly unfamiliar with
it. I have used the charting resource monitor on my home system, W98 (sorry
don't remember the exact name).
        I am also using NT4 at work so it may be completely irrelevant but I
prefer to stay away from challenging the software.
