When you "long-click" to move ANYTHING, it disappears. Some objects have an outer boundary, and that shows when moving, but generally the object disappears when editing or moving. It isn't gone, it is just faster to draw floating crosshairs than the whole object. The crosshairs are redrawn about 100 x a second when you are moving it.
