>I have a Compaq IPAQ x86 Family 6 Model 6, 196meg RAM, Norton AntiVirus,

Stop right there! The Compaq may be your problem. I had a Compaq Presario
4640 once. What a piece of junk! I swore I would never buy another Compaq
product again. Only Compaq would take a perfectly good Pentium II CPU and
marry it to proprietary RAM modules (only 48MB) and a slooow hard disk, with
a chipset that didn't support ECP/EPP parallel port. Oh, and the DVD drive
died after 4 months. That's the first, last, and only time I ever bought a
PC from a retail outlet. If I had been able to get better info before
buying, I never would have bought it. But at retail outlets, the
salesperson's "DUH" factor is quite high.

Isn't the IPAQ the model that doesn't have parallel and serial ports, only
USB ports?

>From what we have seen with Protel, you need the most solid hardware you can
get to run Protel with no problems. Using a piece of junk is asking for
trouble with Protel.

I really don't mean to insult you, anyone can make a mistake like this. I
did, and I consider myself a sharp cookie (most of the time). Since you
mentioned an IT person, maybe you didn't have a choice - maybe they gave you
an IPAQ and said "use this". If so, I sympathize with your plight.

Why HP would want to buy such a loser competitor is beyond my comprehension.
"We are experiencing a decline in sales and revenue, so let's buy our
competitor who makes stuff that's worse than ours. This is the path to
growth and profitability." Sorry, Carly.

I've got my fire extinguisher handy for the flames that must surely
follow...

Thanks Abdul-Rahman, Tony, and Dennis!

I have a Compaq IPAQ x86 Family 6 Model 6, 196meg RAM, Norton AntiVirus,
and I do have the latest Service Packs. I think the Video Card is on the
Main Board of this computer.

I mention the above info. in case you have any advise from it.

I have an IT person but he has been unable to find anything wrong. I
will show him your emails to see if it will give him some ideas.

The IT person tells me not to run Protel by itself, and AutoCAD by
itself which has not helped.

Thanks again!
