just got a paper glossy brochure from a (volume) bd shop in korea
they are promoting something called 'silver through hole'
to quote (sic)
"
We recommend Silver Through Hole PCBs for the cost savings and serve
customers with design change.
-Cost reduction by 20-30% compared with FR-4 double sided PTH
-Shorter delivery time
-Stable quality specially in bow and twist
"
anybody hear of Silver Through Hole or know what it is?
is it done onshore state side?
i have heard that the biggest bottleneck is plating time, maybe this
addresses that somehow
BTW, they also claim multilayer capacity of 20Km2/ month !
