Pardon me, but are you doing PCB layout or creating jewelry? 50 mils of gold plating??? Most of us are quite happy with a few atomic thicknesses (gold is, for the most part, an anti-corrosion coating)...However, if you REALLY have 50mil thick tracks, then I can see why you're having trouble getting the solder to flow. Try using a blowtorch instead ;)
