Nope, 'fraid not. I hadn't changed the settings, but just to make sure I went in to check. I also set it really slow, then really fast - no change.
I really think it's 99SE, because it's very specific. Only the first 'Measure-distance' is affected, or the first place-via. All the rest in that Measure-distance session are normal and fine, but cancel it, then do it again, and the same phenomenon repeats.
