 That's interesting. Pulse should not really be killed with the session
 (e.g. it's meant to run a little while after the session ends).

 At X startup the XDG autostart .desktop file should kick in and run the
 script start-pulseaudio-x11 which loads a few X11 modules in the pulse
 daemon. When X exits, the modules should be unloaded but pulse should
 continue to run.

 Of course at this point pulse will no longer have permission to open the
 devices as console-kit will remove it's ACLs so I wonder if this is in
 some capacity messing things up?


 It would be interesting to know why pulse exits with the session tho'?

 Can you run "pacmd list" on each system after login (I'd like to see if
 the X11 modules are loaded) also it may be worth comparing the idle-
 timeout values in client.conf on each system too.
