Many thanks for the info.

Jack is running well.  Only problem is when I open jack, I get an error with
ALSA seq (could not open as client)

Any ideas?

you will also need to add something like this to your 
/etc/security/limits.conf to be able to run with RT as user

@audio          -       rtprio          99
@audio          -       nice            -10
@audio          -       memlock         512000
