Certainly a winner to me: simple, elegant and distinct (or so I hope
that there aren't too many similar logo's like this out there). Mike
nicely summed up several good points.
Few suggestions (take or leave as wanted): to avoid the billiard
balls analogy (especially noticeable for the favicon), does dropping
the 4-column still work as logo? The 1-2-3 perhaps also has a nicer
ring to it, as normally with anything 3-ish, and might make the
favicon more distinct. You might also go for fancy and set the
1-2-3-4 overall shape up in the same shape as a single scale, but
that may be too much.
As for the scales/guitar picks distinction, I'm afraid the little
dash doesn't really work for me. Perhaps it's just a matter of
changing the aspect ratio of the scale itself. Then again, guitar
picks and (snake) scales probably have the same shape for a reason ;-).

As said, just some thoughts that popped up, but overall I like it
very much. And that it is no pylon, ah well, how many people act/look
like their (last) name?

Cheers,

   Evert
