My 2 cents, I'm one of those programmer who lurk on Reddit & Hacker News.
Whenever I have a chance, I always evangelize Python there (+ my own blog), and subsequently Pylons because that is the framework that i love at the moment. But I wonder about the effectiveness of such marketing. I have no idea whether my evangelism is working or not. The only evangelism I know that works, is blogging about my specific hurdles while using Pylons and post the solutions so that others can benefit. - Didip - On Thu, Aug 20, 2009 at 12:09 PM, Mike Orr <[email protected]> wrote: > > On Thu, Aug 20, 2009 at 5:39 AM, Jerry<[email protected]> wrote: > > > > I want to chime in on this Pylons marketing topic -- I'm sure many, if > > not all, of you are also Hacker News ( http://news.ycombinator.com/ ) > > readers, so why not piggyback by commenting on the Django/Python web > > framework related threads there, especially those not-so-positive > > reviews such as this recent one -- "Dropping Django" ( > > http://www.recruititassociates.com/jobs/job.aspx?jobid=2743 ) > > I think the link you're referring to is: > http://uswaretech.com/blog/2009/08/a-response-to-dropping-django/ > (from Hacker News). > > The link you cited is a job opening for an enterprise system in Java, > which seems to have no relationship to the topic. > > BTW, I had never heard of Hacker News until now, which gets into a point > below. > > > promote awareness/interest on Pylons?
