I agree that the distinction between the two lists is not very clear and it could be better. Here are a couple of things to note.

Compare descriptions.

https://groups.google.com/forum/#!aboutgroup/pylons-devel
Admittedly Google Groups does a poor job of making it easy to find the description, and our descriptions are not very descriptive.

Pylons-discuss is more for support. This page describes more about support options.
http://www.pylonsproject.org/community/get-support

Pylons-devel is more for developers who want to contribute to any projects under the Pylons project. This page has more information for contributing.
http://www.pylonsproject.org/community/how-to-participate

In regards to cubicweb, to me it sounded like an invitation to participate in their project, not a question. Was an answer or response expected?

Which blogs are 404? There might be some assets under Pylons Project control that we should update.

Finally, users still struggle with the whole Pylons Project/Pylons the web framework/Pyramid confusion, too. That's changing slowly under our master marketing plan. There have been hints shown with updated Pyramid scaffolds and the Pyramid debug toolbar, as well as:
http://trypyramid.com/

On that page you can see the hints for both the new Pyramid and Pylons Project brands. The old Pylons the web framework brand will remain orange and black. That will help a lot for distinguishing each.

The purpose of trypyramid.com is to provide folks an easy point of entry to try Pyramid. It's a lot easier than stumbling through the labyrinth of pylonsproject.org.

Hi,

Maybe we could remove one mailing-list, there is pylons-discuss and pylons-devel but with very few posts. Often i don't know where to write, irc, github issue, pylons-discuss or pylons-devel.

When Nicolas Chauvat announced the port of cubicweb to pyramid it was no answer. devpi-server has already switched to pyramid but the blogs on pylonsproject.org are out of date or 404 I think we could improve this part of the project, but of course i know that it's easy to say and more difficult to do !

It's also the advantage of pyramid, it doesn't evolve by fashion.
