I don't see any problem the speed of the hosting now the site is working very good to me (http://plone-org-il.xen.ru/)
About moving plone site - from what I understand the option is to save and move the data.fs file but the best is to ask the Plone hosting provider. So if Key Solutions still happy to give us the hosting it will be fine with me to update plone.python.org.il again and I thank them again for the nice offer of the hosting. Please write more what you want to be public and what you think should be private and also what will be good site for first version live for python.org.il to be live Plone website (I mean what should be working to be live plone site on air) take care ofer > Ofer Weisglass wrote: > >> about the hosting, you think it is good idea to use Mikhail hosing or >> look >> for israeli comapny? >> >> I don't want to have his banners to his company where >> plone.python.org.il >> should be and that's why I asked to turn it down. >> >> what you think? >> > A local site might be best (for better connectivity to our main target > audience - Israeli users), but we don't have another option right now, > and I do not want to lose the momentum. > (The talk about Plone-based site raised much interest, which I'd like to > see translated into new/improved contents) > > First of all - how complicated it is to move a site to another host > (does Plone have some dump-site/load-site functionality?) > > If this operation is not too complicated (and it shouldn't be), I vote > for accepting the help we're being offered and start building our site > ASAP. > Note that I'd also like the site to be visible to not logged-in users > ASAP (not wait for completion) - this way people would see where help is > needed and join in anytime. > > This should not stop us from looking for other options - if/when we > find local hosting, we can just move the contents. > > Note also that I don't recall noticing any banners while it was active, > so I'm not sure what your'e referring to. > > Regards, > Amit > >
