I had fully intended to be at the Manchester Show. I the was the first AGM I have missed since I started being a trader. MY problem was, when the car broke down, I was promised it would be fixed within 5 days. This would have been fine for the show. In the event it took three weeks! By the time I knew this it was too late to organise another way to get there which would be cheap enough to make it viable. I even looked into flights.
The problem with non attendance at shows is also down to a lack of new products or even updates.
