Ah, got it. The original blue sheet of instructions doesn't mention
this, back to the upgrade printout...

"If a file ROM1, ROM2, ROM3, or ROM4...exists in root directory of
RomDisq, then this will be initialised prior to F1/F2. This file must
be either a bootable ROM, or a RESPR driver file, otherwise the
RomDisq may cause the QL to lock up (this would require a TF Services
rescue!)."

Well worth repeating that here, not sure how many would have cottoned
on to using that to ensure that the SuperHermes extensions get
initialised before a boot program has been run. Although the risk of a
system lockup by a bad call to machine code before bootup might put
some off. But, a handy little hint that, Sir TF!
