I am looking at uQLx on linux... Just because it can be so small that any box that can boot from the stick can be that.
However, I'm also looking at it from the POV that architecture matters a little and weighing up Intel vs. ARM performance. It'll be a slow project due to zero finances, but if I can contribute anything back, I will, happily.
