I have always found the QL display to be hard because the provisions were more simple than on the Amiga or ST. On the other hand, that turned out to be a blessing, because you could achieve quite impressive results with the simpler QL routines. What was it Clive used to say? Keep hardware simple. Do it in software! That said, interpreted BASIC was always too slow to do anything too complicated, and I didn't fancy learning m68k assy. Still don't.
