Hi, in Brazil we have a project called TrackSource (
http://tracksource.org.br/) which develop open source (Creative Commons)
Brazilian maps for Garmin GPS.
Most users and developers use Windows and Mapsource so, unfortunately, the
maps are only available as a .exe file to install it direct on Mapsource
(download page
http://tracksource.org.br/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=20
).
I'm trying to use the TrackSource maps with QLandkarte. With Wine and
Mapsource I was able to extract the *.tdb file and the *.img files. But when
I try to import then to QLandkarte I'm able to import only one map per time.
I mean, in Mapsource I can select the Brazilian map and see all the cities
information only by approaching (zoom in) the map. In QLandkarte the
Brazilian map have only general information (city location and main roads).
If I want to see detailed city information I have to import a new .img file
and select it. Any ideas on how to make QLandkarte behave like Mapsource in
this issue? I don't know if this is something that need to be done on
QLandkarte or in the map files.
I also would like to create a package with the TrackSource maps for Linux
users in order to install then directly in QLandkarte (maybe is this package
that have to link the Brazilian map with the cities maps in order to achieve
what I've described above) but I have no idea on how to do this. Ideas?
Thanks, Rodrigo.
