Hey Oliver, with the tip to zoom out I was able to find the maps :-)

In my tests it didn't make any difference importing the maps with the file
extension for .tdb and .mdx in lowercase or uppercase. What difference did
you expect to happen?

If I understand correctly the problem is with QLandkarte reading the map
boundaries, so we need to fix it in the software. Or there is something to
be changed in the map files?

Anyway, I'm very happy because now I have a open source solution to use my
GPS with Linux. Thank you very much to all involved with QLandkarte.
