With all due respect, your arguments are sounding to me more and more
like rationalizations for a policy that started out with some
shortcomings, and has gotten frozen into something that's fairly
abusive. 

You've already heard from several people who believe that the way you
manage your operation goes too far.  You, obviously, disagree.  What,
in your opinion, *would* constitute behaviour that goes too far?  

That's not a rhetorical question, nor an attempt to provoke flamage;
I'd really like to know.
