Current version on my clam is .94 I've been pretty good at keeping that and spamassassin up to date. I have noticed as of late (during troubleshooting) that when I run qmailctl stop.... both spam and clam refuse to die... I have to pkill them. It seems my squirrelmail is all wacked out too which might lead to the same issue. I can no longer send emails out of my client and it
returns this message as well. So it seems I have no alternative but to
upgrade at this point.

Looks Like I have a weekend project ready for me :D

If it is spamassassin or clam, can't you temporarily disable those by adusting the /var/qmail/control/simcontrol ? I don't know since this issue is well past my knowledge.

Gilbert

Hey Gilbert. :)

You can, but I'm not sure what that would buy you. The problem does appear to be scanning related. I think it's odd though that incoming mail apparently processes just fine, while outbound/submissions are the problem.

I'm wondering now if there isn't a problem with a queue or the /var/qmail/simscan directory. Glen, is /var/qmail/simscan empty? It should be except for messages being scanned. Also, what does "qmHandle -l" show?
