Thomas, There is alot of information on the qooxdoo site and in the wiki and I see mining information from qooxdoo as a micorocosm of doing the same on the internet itself. Qooxdoo has excellent api documentation and the demobrowser is very nice. Not to mention the code - it is well written and easy to follow.
When I decided to try to write applications for the browsers I had to learn qooxdoo, object oriented programming, how to run a server, javascript, web protocals, cherrpy, the zodb - I knew a little about most of them, but not much. I have googled the net 'till I just about wore my fingerprints off, and have spent hours/days/months looking at source code and api's and demos. What I am getting at is that someone else is doing the same thing that I have done. There is tons of information out there and I am thankful that it is out there. I was programming long before open source ever came along and I remember when there was no information. I am not taking anything away from anyone, as I am well aware of the amount of work that has to go into something like Qooxdoo - and to provide the amount of documentation and demos and examples and tools that you guys have provided. But, there has to be a better way for people to access that information in the right place at the right time in the right context. And I wish that I had the answer, but I don't. tom thron7-2 wrote: > >> I get frustrated >> because >> so much stuff flies past that I don't have time to look at, much less >> understand. > > I know what you mean, I think it happens to all of us in one way or > another. > > What's important for me as a core developer is to provide you with > sufficient aid to make your way safely through the information, rather > than bein overwhelmed by it.
