Exactly, except my email tag for me the email I read and the unread others. Also, 2 months without reading mailing list never happened to me in more than 2 years. So, this email is just the right tool. > > Jean-Baptiste BRIAUD -- Novlog wrote: >> >> I pick the first one : >> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2020796/swing-text-editor-that-color-and-highlight >> >> After few second I understand it is not a javascript question but a Swing >> question even if it has been tagged as javascript. >> I then notice it has been tagged with a lot of keywords, bad practice I >> supposed, but it is there. >> I'm not estonished since the site is not managed (no moderator, or people >> in charge per section) >> > That really sounds like bad practice and im not sure if that tag was set > right. This clarification is essential to me I note several points : * the test launched is not a test like I understood but now it is clear. SO is launched but may not stay if the success is not there. I thought a vote of the community would have been nice before the decision but OK, its done. * the risk is high to split the community but it has been already said * I would not post anymore on SO subject because I don't want to be too negative and I feel there is nothing more I can do. Of course, I'll continue to help on the mailing list ! I'm a big qooxdoo fan even if I consider that SO is a big mistake. I don't think SO is the good way to address more people. I have some ideas on that like propose qooxdoo in one big file without the Python toolchain. > > Jean-Baptiste BRIAUD -- Novlog wrote: >> >> That is also one more site I'll have to register, store the password, ... >> annoying. >> > You can log in with OpenID. So just use your google, yahoo, ... account and > thats it! I don't want to mix everything and I'm not a big fan of Google service and I don't have a yahoo account, so the only way for me would be to register with a new account. I know some people open one Google account and do everything with it. I'm really concern about privacy and I can't advise anyone to use one big Google account for everything. To me this is bad practice I know it may not be the consensus. I had worked on IT security, that may explain my feeling :-) > > Jean-Baptiste BRIAUD -- Novlog wrote: >> >> I should keep it online permanently like my email client, again, not a big >> fan of that. >> Unlike my email client, I'll have to hit refresh on a regular basis if I >> want to help. >> So with SO, helping to promote qooxdoo will become more difficult for me >> and some others. >> > As already said, use RSS (http://www.newsgator.com/INDIVIDUALS/NETNEWSWIRE/) > or just use a service which sends you the feeds via email: > http://www.feedmyinbox.com/ I never said it was not possible but to you're asking too much : no added value for me to seek/install and use a new soft that will take more memory and CPU on my poor old dev machine. Email client is already open and I think I'll stick to email client as long as I can. I already have this debates on other mailing list, I have the impression I already have that discussion several time :-) Always the same arguments, no winner, pro web and pro desktop application is the same kind of discussion and I'm not using web email client. As said I won't post again on that subject and I hope SO will be positive for qooxdoo. I'll be happy of any qooxdoo success whatever I said before :-) JBB. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Verizon Developer Community Take advantage of Verizon's best-in-class app development support A streamlined, 14 day to market process makes app distribution fast and easy Join now and get one step closer to millions of Verizon customers http://p.sf.net/sfu/verizon-dev2dev _______________________________________________ qooxdoo-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/qooxdoo-devel
