I've seen some problems related to clients interpretation of the UIDL. It
doesn't seem to be related to a specific POP3 server (like qpopper) since
I've seen it happen with another POP3 server as well.

I've sniffed the network traffic and analyzed commands and info sent back
and forth and it seems to me that the client somehow screws up the storage
of the UIDL since everything going back and forth on the network is
correct. I guess it's a buggy "store UIDL/Retreive UIDL" and compare
between a UIDL from server that requires some freak circumstance to happen.
(Clients that default to using some other way of knowing if they donwloaded
a message or not should be taken out and shot.)

In any way it's as far as I can see related to the client, ergo sum - not
my problem. I work with servers and networks only (if I don't manage to
solve their problems that is. :-) I recommend you switch client, and you
know what *I* prefer.

Cheers!
