the one thing is a slight asymmetry:
  QT += gui someotherlib
i.e., the current internal modules have no special prefix, and it kind
of makes sense to keep that for backwards compatibility.
one could keep the QT syntax and also support a new syntax:
  DEPENDS += QtGui SomeOtherLib
QT_CONFIG would need a pendant like AVAILABLE.

or we could just move on, indeed ...
