While clearly this would make life easier for some developers, it's just too premature to move on yet. Lion has only just been out a few months. As I understand it, Qt5 is supposed to be aiming for a date sometime next year. That would mean that you'd be dropping support for a Mac OS version that was the latest up to only about a year before you drop it!
