Thanks Ed,

I'll look into that. I'm stripping out things to make the scrabble tools fit, maybe if I pare aggressively I can get it down to a 210MB mini cd. The Qt libs ( I need qt3 and qt4) are quite large. I think I'll work on the 600mb first, as it will be quicker and easier, but I will move on to a 210 version after that. I'm sure the tools will keep getting better, and I'll want to update them as well. The main thing is to get quackle out there for windows users who've been wanting to try it out and see how cool it is!

It's a good idea, and I'll start thinking about how to strip down the packages.

Thanks,

Jimmy

I might suggest distributing a stripped-down Knoppix, that only has
the minimum necessary to run the applications.  If you could get the
distribution down to 128MB or less, then it'd be a lot easier to put
it up online for distribution, even if only to a few select people.

[I'm not sure if Knoppix in particular can do this, but I know there
are other "live CD" distros that can be stored on a USB memory stick,
boot from it, and save state across boots.  A small distribution would
make that viable for Quackle, too.]
