This is my first post to this group, as I only learned of it today, so kudos to Jason and John and everyone else are obligatory and deserved. Also, humble apologies for posting Quackle-related comments to cgp...
I think Keith's idea is awesome. Every chess program I've ever seen (an admittedly small number) had a library of famous games. I've found them extremely instructional, and I have no doubt that annotated Scrabble games would be equally so... One comment about Quackle's gameplay, as well as its suggestions: Quite often, it makes/prefers "risky" plays. For example, opening with ARTIcLE at 8B, when dozens of "safer" options existed. Other examples include frequently slotting vowels next to DL/TL squares, solely (I assume) due to higher equity. I've also commented about Quackle's poor endgame analysis on cgp, but I have now come to understand that this will be addressed in future releases. There are other features I'd also like to see, but I'll save those for future posts. Once again, a huge thanks to everyone for creating, massaging, and sharing this app! I look forward to seeing all the enhancements down the road. -Trashman --- In [email protected], "Keith Smith (Astrp3)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: ...I was hoping to one day see historical games in Quackle. > > One of our plans for Cross-Tables.com is to add a section of actual > annotated games (each player would have a new tab listing all their > games in the database)...
