Hi Lori
Welcome to the list and all the good advise.
Any discomfort to the body is a pain in the
butt. A C/6 complete with that much pain
is surprising but not out of the realm of having
any spinal cord injury.
I'm hoping that in time as your body changes,
the pain and discomfort is reduced.
Internal medicine pumps have gain'd alot of
attention in the last few years, as they use
less meds, but with greater effect on both
pain and spasm control.
As a person with SCI you are prone to be
subjected to more medication than before
your car accident. Since your doctors are
aware of your past, it is understandable that
they are being cautious at your pain
expense.
For most, things improve...with support.
Diversion is also most important. Keeping
your mind busy with activity is good.
Let your doctors know how you feel and ask for
their help and assistance in getting you help.
I pray in time as your body settles you will require
less meds and be able to go on with your life.
You have too much to live for. I hope you
have good family support as well.
Best Wishes and keep posting!
