It really helps a lot to have someone big and husky that you trust to hoss our fat butts around on a road trip. I'm glad all went well. where are the pics? Dave In a message dated 12/9/2007 4:25:42 P.M. US Mountain Standard Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes:
Hello All, I just returned from a week at Disney World with my granddaughter & husband. We had a great time! I haven't flown since 9-11. The airport wasn't bad at all traveling with a wheelchair. I was able to stay in my power chair all the way to boarding then my husband transferred me to my manual that fit to the first row & transferred again. The airlines took both chairs away & we had no problems with having to box anything. It was Continental Airlines & a direct flight though. We rented a Dodge Caravan to put my chair in the back & go to all the parks. I found Disney to be very accessible as much as possible. The trams were accessible. They even had a few rides that were accessible! If anyone is thinking about an accessible trip, I suggest Disney. My husband did come home with a sore back from all the transferring. But one of the roller coasters didn't help that any. We would have checked in to a van rental with a lift but as it was, all was quite pricey so we had to do without some of the luxuries of home. When I returned there was a message on my phone from M.C. Mobility...all was approved and they're ready to work on the modifications to my van!
