A quads BP should not be treated to increase it. By doing this, you may be
eliminating your option to give him medicine that will bring down his BP during
instances when Autonomic dysreflexia hits.
Try checking his bp after or while he is being active. His low bp is a simple
result of a lack of muscle tension. If his heart isn't malfunctioning, then why
medicate it.
I completely agree with Ron.
Doctors do not get a lot of information on quads and what they have is often
scewed by each doctors history. If a quads heart is functioning normally, he
has low blood pressure. The group of glands that produce the hormones that
would correct the blood pressure do not function properly. (if at all).
After a while, a quad can be taking more pills than food.

I wish you the best,
john

Subject: [QUAD-L] about docs giving new drugs

Hello,
I wanted to add something about drugs that some will disagree with. If you keep
going in to see the doc too often you will inevitibly be put on more drugs. One
of the keys to living long as a quad is a happy medium with prescription drugs.
If you keep going in a getting checked when everything is rolling normal(for a
quad) you are actually risking your health

A comparison to this is if you take your car in and get the transmission
checked when its running fine. The shop might mess with it and cause it to
leak!!!!!

Also many docs dont even understand diddly about a quad..........they really
dont have a clue what it normal and whats a probem. But as far as blood
pressure almost every quad out there has low blood pressure.
