It's an Elina 60mm, about 12.5mm thick. The rattle was caused by the fan mounting (a piece of sheetmetal that is pressure-fitted to the side of the PSU) being slightly loose. I've re-sprung the metal to keep it in place but I'm thinking I might screw it to the PSU at a later date if the rattle returns. Had a couple thoughts while digging around in there... 1) what if the fan were reversed to blow *into* the PSU and some vents cut in the side of the PSU casing for this purpose? Seems like that would get the CPU heat out of the case faster, but it also might cause problems since it would then be sucking instead of blowing across the heatsink. 2) would a higher-flow fan in this position be of much use? 3) what if the vents were cut in the PSU casing but the fan were left blowing *onto* the heatsink? It would draw some of the air out of the vent stream through the PSU (which is remarkably straight and unencumbered, by the way) and set up a bit of recirculation but I wonder if this might not be useful for getting more air over the heatsink. the pickle FAQ <http://macfaq.org/index.shtml> Software Archive <ftp://download:[EMAIL PROTECTED]//Users/thepickl/Sites/Archive/> _________________________________________________________________ -- Quadlist is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
